Budapest - 3 nights ★★★★

Budapest is the political, cultural and commercial heart of Hungary. This beautiful capital city is an architectural treasure trove waiting to be explored. The magnificent buildings that line both sides of the mighty Danube tell fascinating stories of Budapest's impressive history. Keep your senses primed and you'll discover something wonderful at every turn!

Holiday Highlights

The city is bisected by the River Danube, the 19th-century chain bridge connects the twin cities of Buda, on the west bank of the Danube, and Pest on the east. Castle Hill (Várhegy) is the crowning feature of the Buda side of the river; it rises steeply from the Danube bank, bearing the imposing Buda Palace, a web of cobbled streets and the Matyas Church, symbolic of Hungarian nationalism.

Pest is brimming with hip cafés and bars, as well as home to the historic Belváros (central old town) and the intimate Jewish District. The city is also blessed with an abundance of hot springs with a generous choice of bathhouses; Rudas baths in Gellért Hill & Tabán, the Royal Palace and the Széchenyi Chain Bridge in the Castle District, Parliament and the Basilica of St Stephen in Parliament district, together with the Great Synagogue in Erzsébetváros & the Jewish Quarter are all not to be missed.
